What is Cystine?

Cystine - sulfur-containing amino acid that functions as an antioxidant and is a powerful aid to the body in protecting against radiation and pollution.

Benefits of cystine

Too much cystine in the body can cause cystinosis, a rare disease that can cause cystine crystals to form in the body and produce bladder or kidney stones.

Cystine cannot be used by the body without adequate amounts of vitamin B6, vitamin B12, and folic acid, so you’ll want to make sure you get the right amount of these supplements as well.

Food highest in Cystine:

  • Eggs
  • Beef
  • Pork
  • Lentils
  • Milk
  • Chicken
  • Fish
  • Grains
  • Seeds
  • Carrots

I’m impressed, I must say. Really rarely do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head.
